WHAT DO THE ADOPTION FEES PAY FOR?

Adoption fees help cover the medical care, food, and transportation costs of the animal while he or she waits for a new home. FABS Rescue provides veterinary care for every animal that enters the rescue, and some of the care required can be quite extensive and therefore, quite expensive. Adoption fees help to provide care for all animals in the rescue, many of whom may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The fees also act as a donation to help support our organization as a whole, which allows us to continue our efforts to rescue and rehome pets.

Some common expenses for our rescue animals are:

  • Spay or neuter surgery

  • Microchipping

  • Age-appropriate tests and/or routine vaccinations (deworming, rabies and distemper vaccines, FeLV/FIV tests, heartworm and flea/tick treatment/prevention, etc.) as well as any specialty tests that may be medically necessary

  • Complete medical care for illnesses or injuries discovered when they enter our rescue

  • Transportation and/or boarding costs

  • Food, vet visits, medication, dental work, recommended bloodwork...the list goes on!

Our adoptable animals are provided with anything and everything they need to ensure they are healthy and happy before going to their forever homes.
